The Niagara County Tourism Department will unveil a three-year marketing plan during a 9 a.m. press conference Wednesday at the Pub restaurant in the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center.
Richard P. Renaud, director of tourism, said the project will be unique.
"No one has ever done a plan for three years for the county," he said.
The document will address county goals, objectives, strategies and plans for utilizing the media, Renaud said.
Renaud added that 1989 was a banner year for inquiries for tourism information.
He said there were 303,500 requests, both by phone and through the mail, up more than 50 percent from the 202,000 requests received in 1988.
Requests were received either by phone or mail.
He said the county this year will undertake a study to determine how many of the requests for tourist information actually resulted into local visits.
