TRAIL OF BLOOD LEADS TO ARREST IN STABBING

A trail of blood led to the arrest of a man who is accused of stabbing and trying to rob an elderly man Thursday evening in his apartment in the Frederick Douglass Towers project, 168 Jefferson Ave.

Alonzo Harris Jr., 39, of 168 Jefferson, was charged with attempted robbery and first-degree assault.

Police said his victim, Richard Clark, 74, was listed in fair condition in Sheehan Memorial Hospital with stab wounds of the face, head and neck.

A friend who called out to Clark from another room in the apartment apparently scared off the attacker, who fled, leaving trail a blood, Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority Officers Patrick Pascall and Gerald Sullivan said.
