YORKSHIRE CLEANUP OF DRUMS IS DUE FOR COMPLETION TODAY

Motorola Inc. said its environmental engineers are scheduled to complete removal today of 163 drums containing toxic wastes from the Norman Rogers dump on California Road.

The drums, taken by a waste hauler from the company's Arcade plant, were dumped on the 15-acre site in 1978.

Spokeswoman Becky Harding said the hazardous wastes will be incinerated at a plant in Louisiana and the remainder will be treated by Frontier Chemical Services Inc. in
Niagara Falls.

She said a report on future cleanup activities at the site will be ready for action by the state Department of Environmental Conservation in March.
