Services for William L. Betteridge, 77, a master candy maker at Oliver's Candies for 53 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the H. E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St.
Betteridge died Tuesday (Jan. 23, 1990) in the Genesee County Nursing Home after a long illness. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
An Oak Street resident, Betteridge was a member of First Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a life member of the Batavia Rod and Gun Club and Veness-Strollo Post 1602, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Betteridge served as a communications specialist with the Army Air Forces during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Finkle Betteridge; a daughter, Bonnie Battaglia, and two grandchildren.
