The Post-Hollywood Depression series will focus on the theme "Women Band Together" Saturday at 10 p.m. in Hallwalls, 700 Main St. The evening begins with the film "My Degeneration" by Jon Moritsugu, followed by music with Fifth Column, an all-female band from Toronto.
Michael Starczynski will direct the Checkmate Theatre's dinner-theater production "Mixed Up Marsha," Friday, Saturday and Feb. 2 to 4 in the Bristol Manor Restaurant, 280 Center Road, West Seneca. The comedy farce, featuring Anna Marie Pimpo, John Kreuger, Sally Hayes and others, will begin at 8:30 p.m. following the 6:30 dinner.
"Under the Skin," a theater piece about racism and prejudice in the United States, will be staged Tuesday at 12:15 and 7:30 p.m. in the Scharmann Theater, Jamestown Community College, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown. The production, mounted by students of the State University of New York College at Purchase, is on a tour of 10 SUNY campuses.
The theater department of Niagara County Community College will stage the Marsha Norman drama "Getting Out" at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Feb. 2 and 3 in the Fine Arts Auditorium, Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn. David Conley will direct.
The First Thursday programfor February, scheduled next Thursday in Hallwalls, has been canceled. The program, featuring Buffalo's Media Coalition for Reproductive Rights and the Ladies of the Lake, will be rescheduled.
