One of the state's most powerful attorney organizations will honor the U.S. Supreme Court's oldest member Friday in New York City with a $1,000 crystal sculpture highlighted by an inscription etched by two Buffalo businessmen.

The 700-member New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers commissioned brothers Paul and Nick Gugliuzza, owners of Corporate Image, a business services firm, to inscribe the Japanese-made award being presented to Justice William J. Brennan Jr., 83.

Brennan has been a member of the nation's high court since 1956. He is being honored for his strong commitment to the defense of civil rights and individual liberties.
