CONSTRUCTION WORKER HURT AS SCAFFOLDING TOPPLES

A construction worker was injured shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday when he was thrown 20 feet to the ground when a gust of wind toppled scaffolding at 45 Woodridge Drive, in the Audubon Industrial Park in Amherst.

Jason Lort, 21, of 131 Claudette Court, Cheektowaga, was listed in fair condition in Buffalo General Hospital with head, back and chest injuries.

Town police said Lort was attaching a large sheet of plastic as a windbreaker when the scaffolding toppled.
