CABLE BOARD SEES BENEFIT IN JOINT PROGRAMMING EFFORT

Cooperation between Fredonia and Dunkirk on local access programming for cable television subscribers may benefit both communities, the Cable Television Advisory Board said Wednesday night.

Dunkirk has good equipment to be used at various events, while Fredonia has good studio equipment. Some hookups are in place, as well. The commission will invite Danny McGill, chairman of the Dunkirk group, to its next meeting to discuss the situation further.

The commission also discussed the report of the state Cable Television Commission's inspection last Dec. 5. Various technical deficiencies were found, but Gail Drummond, office manager of Cablevision of Fredonia, the franchise-holder, said most would be corrected in the next two weeks.

However, Commissioner Ronald Warren said the system apparently has "some serious deficiencies," but those were technical and he did not give further details.
