A second contingent of Lackawanna officials and residents is scheduled to leave Saturday to tour the Oxford Energy Corp. plant near Modesto, Calif. -- a facility that is similar to one the company hopes to build in Lackawanna.
The group will include Cheryl Panfil, representing Citizens for Lackawanna's Future, a newly formed group that opposes the tire-burning energy plant, Oxford spokesman Kevin O'Reilly said Wednesday.
Also scheduled to go are Councilmen Leonard A. Woyshner and Marion M. Druzbik, City Engineer Anthony E. Collareno, Lackawanna School Board President Dennis Chudzik and school district accountant Sameh Masry.
Oxford is paying for the trip but will not pay the expenses of Woyshner's wife, who is accompanying him, O'Reilly said.
Six city officials and residents took a similar trip earlier this month.
