The insurance industry this month set up a new toll-free consumer hotline to assist people with matters relating to life, health and property/casualty insurance.
Staffers at the "National Insurance Consumer Helpline" will answer questions, refer complaints to the appropriate entities, and send out brochures and educational materials.
The hotline operates 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday at (800) 942-4242.
