HENRY SCHAEFER, RAN GLOBE BUILDERS SUPPLY

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Trinity Episcopal Church, 371 Delaware Ave., for Henry R. Schaefer, 80, the former president of Globe Builders Supply.

Schaefer, who moved to Canada in 1958, died Saturday (Jan. 20, 1990) in Port Colborne, Ont. A Buffalo native , Schaefer attended Nichols School and Princeton University, where he graduated in 1926. He then went to work for Globe, a family-owned business. He worked there until retiring in 1958.

Schaefer was an active amateur musician and wrote music for two shows performed by the Junior League to raise funds for charity.

Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Wilcox; a daughter Betty S. Appleton of Wilton, Conn.; two sisters, Elizabeth Wende of Akron and Margaret Nichols of Menlo Park, Calif., and six grandchildren.
