TIGERS TIP KNIGHTS, 66-61

Darrell Delaney scored 17 points and Sam Scott added 14 Monday as Bennett defeated visiting Kensington, 66-61, to hand the Knights their first loss in Yale Cup series play.

The Tigers (9-6 overall, 7-2 in league) got solid work on the boards from Chris Watson and Scott, who had 12 rebounds apiece. Bennett took a 30-25 halftime lead and never trailed after that. Taka Molson led Kensington (12-3, 6-1) with 17 points.

Burgard's Ritchie Campbell poured in a career-high 58 points to move up 13 rungs on the state scoring ladder and dished out 13 assists as the Bulldogs (11-4, 6-3) routed Seneca, 104-83. Campbell jumped from 29th to 16th on the state list, ahead of notables such as Christian Laettner and Lew Alcindor, and now has 2,088 career points. He is third in Western New York history. Pat Jones added a career-high 18 rebounds for Burgard. Roy Reeves had 24 points and Deshon Cook 23 for Seneca (3-9, 1-8).

Damond Rand's three-pointer late in overtime helped Riverside (7-7, 6-3) hold off City Honors, 64-63. The Frontiers trailed, 32-18, at halftime before finally pulling even on a three-pointer with six seconds left by Willie Cornelius (27 points, 20 rebounds). City Honors (5-8, 2-8) got 20 points from Tom Thedford. . . . Ken Robinson scored 29 points to lead Grover Cleveland to an 83-55 rout of McKinley. The Presidents (6-7, 4-5) also got 12 points and 14 rebounds from Shawn Ashford and 13 points and six steals from Mack Calhoun. . . . Mike Brundige scored 26 points as Hutch-Tech (5-8, 1-3) broke to a 37-19 halftime lead and beat Lafayette, 78-60. Shondel Baldwin led the Violets (1-12, 0-10) with 24 points.

ECIC Interdivision: Depew (9-4) went on a 14-4 second-quarter run to take control and beat Cleveland Hill, 51-34. Jim Domzalski had 16 points and Ryan Gallo 14 for the Wildcats. Rob Coleman led the Eagles (5-6) with 12.

IAC: Center Nick Colosante scored 12 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter as Calasanctius (1-4, 1-4) held off Park, 52-46.

Non-league: Olean Walsh moved to 13-0 as Kevin Neeson scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half of a 98-62 romp over Johnsonburg (Pa.). Tom Sear led the Eagles with 23 points. . . . Brian George (six three-pointers) and Dean Edwards netted 22 points apiece as Olean (11-2) breezed at winless Tonawanda, 92-42.
