BAIL IN SHOOTING, DRUG CASE DENIED

Clyde L. Moffett, a reputed Buffalo marijuana kingpin linked to a suspected East Side drug gatehouse, was jailed without bail Monday for allegedly shooting a man last July and possessing more than 10 pounds of marijuana seized in a recent raid.

Erie County Judge Michael L. D'Amico ordered Moffett's jailing after prosecutors told him of recent alleged "threats" against the life of Moffett's reputed shooting victim, Sam Stevens, 40.

Arrested on indictment warrants, Moffett, 37, is scheduled to be returned to court Wednesday afternoon for arraignment on felony assault, marijuana trafficking and weapons counts.
