Senior guard Chris Sprigg scored 24 points Sunday night as unbeaten St. Joe's broke open a tight contest in the fourth quarter and beat host St. Mary's of Lancaster, 57-48, in a Msgr. Martin Association boys basketball game.
St. Joe's held a slim 37-35 lead after three periods. A 20-13 edge in the fourth quarter, keyed by a 10-of-12 showing from the free throw line, allowed the Marauders to pull away. St. Joe's, ranked second among large-school teams in The News Poll, is 12-0 overall and 5-0 in league.
Sophomore Aaron Calhoun added eight rebounds to the Marauders' attack. Ray Bova led St. Mary's (4-7, 2-4) with 15 points.
