The board of directors of the Clarence Industrial Development Agency has been expanded from five to seven members, but a town councilman has been removed as a member and chairman.

Councilman Daniel M. Gregorio, a Democrat and a Clarence IDA member since 1981, was not reappointed to a new term by his Republican colleagues on the Town Board.

Gregorio called the move "strictly politics," but Clarence Supervisor Irving W. "Skip" Grenzebach noted that Gregorio will continue to be the Town Board's liaison to the IDA.

Grenzebach described as "unusual" having an elected town councilman also serving as a member and chairman of an appointive body.

Gregorio is also chairman of the Clarence Democratic Town Committee.

Two new appointees, John Leamer and John Patterson, join Clayton Ertel, Thomas F. Tefft, Clyde B. Lockie and Carolyn Romance Lattimer on the IDA board.

A seventh member remains to be named, Grenzebach said.
