ROBBER OVERPOWERS MAN, TAKES OFF IN HIS CAR

A robber dragged a Cheektowaga man from his car about 12:30 a.m. Monday in the Town of Hamburg and then drove away, police said.

The victim told Town of Hamburg police he was overpowered by a robber while parked in a lot outside Dickie's Donuts on Lakeshore Road in Woodlawn.

A short time later, off-duty Erie County Sheriff's Deputy John Zeitler said he saw a man crash Alfred Herman's car into a dumpster near St. Francis Drive in Hamburg, then run away.

After a short chase on foot, Hamburg Officers Lindsey Dunne and Daniel Bauer arrested Jerome Sunley of 5523 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg, and charged him with third-degree robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle and resisting arrest.
