The 51-member work force at Niagara Stone Corp., 8875 Quarry Road, has completed six consecutive years without a lost-time injury, according to the company's safety superintendent, Robert P. Franke.
He said safety incentives have been part of the quarry's overall safety program since 1981. Franke said the safety record was the result of "a strong commitment by the unions, operating engineers, teamsters and management."
Niagara Stone has been producing crushed stone and black top for the construction industry since 1948. It is a division of Greater Buffalo Press Industries, Buffalo.
