A weekend pig roast turned sour when a two-year feud between two families escalated into a Sunday night brawl involving baseball bats, clubs, shotguns and 13 arrests, deputies said Monday.
The battle royal began when the Bruce family's dog tried to mate with the purebred dog belonging to the Seymour family. "The situation went off and running and just escalated," said Sheriff's Lt. Don Nadler. He said family members swung clubs, baseball bats and fired shotgun pellets, slightly injuring four people.
The four were treated at Little Falls Hospital in Little Falls and released for minor gunshot wounds, he said.
All 13 were charged with disorderly conduct and George Barrett, a member of the Seymour family, and Russell Bruce were charged with reckless endangerment, Deputy Michael Pelosi said.
