Debra M. Burger and Jeffrey M. Batorski were united in marriage during a ceremony performed by the Rev. Robert Matlack at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. James United Church of Christ, Hamburg.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene J. Burger of Hamburg. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Michael Romanczuk of Hamburg and the late Raymond Batorski. The newly married couple left for Paradise Island after a reception in Scranton Fire Hall.
A satin gown decorated with embroidered appliques, seed pearls and sequins was worn by the bride and was made by her mother. The bodice was fashioned with a Queen Anne collar and tapered sleeves. The back of the skirt was of chiffon ruffles and extended into a chapel train. A silk floral wreath with pearl sprays and satin ribbon held her fingertip veil. She carried a lace handkerchief made by her late great-grandmother with mixed spring flowers and wore the gold locket that belonged to the bridegroom's late great-grandmother.
