The annual Springbirdette Golf Tournament will be held by the Women's Organization of Transit Valley Country Club Sunday. Play in the nine-hole division began Tuesday and 18-hole play will begin today. Mrs. William Rhodes and Mrs. John Crinzi are chairwomen. The men's Springbird Tournament also will be played over the holiday weekend. A dinner dance will be held Monday.
Mrs. Donald L. Houck will be installed president of Amherst Book Club at a luncheon June 1 in Little White House restaurant. Other officers to be installed are vice president, Mrs. Howard E. General Motors Women's Club of Western New York will attend a performance of "A Walk in the Woods" in Studio Arena Theatre June 1. Marion Landers is in charge of reservations. Members will attend races at Fort Erie Race Track June 11. Carol Kirshberger is chairwoman.
Maggie Springs will be installed president of Buffalo Crossing Guards Association at a dinner June 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Holiday Inn, Delaware Avenue. Also to be installed by Michael Calabrese are vice president, Linda Pasniak; recording secretary, Lucy Cooper; corresponding secretary, Esther Podraza; treasurer, Juliana Paul; sergeant at arms, Ann Quarles. Past presidents Adeline Siefert, Ceil Surowiec and Grace Smith will be honored. Pins and corsages will be presented to 30-year guards. Buffalo Police Lt. Peter Dubiel, commander and chief of the crossing guards, will speak.
