A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 66 E. Main St., Hamburg, for Frederick V. Bahl, 52, a foreman for Niagara Mohawk's line clearance department in Angola.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Abbott Road, Hamburg.

Bahl, a native of Buffalo and a graduate of McKinley High School, died Monday (May 22, 1989) in Buffalo General Hospital after a long illness.

A Hamburg resident, he worked for Niagara Mohawk for 34 years until illness forced him to retire April 29.

Bahl and his wife were foster parents in the Berkshire Farms Services for Youth program. They became part of the program in 1979 and served as foster parents for 12 teen-age girls.

He was a member of the Interharbor Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, the former Patricia Wagner; a son, David; two daughters, Barbara Mueller and Susan Racinowski, all of Hamburg; two sisters, Alice Reczak of West Seneca and Jean Arlow of Hamburg, and three grandchildren.
