BATAVIA CITY GOP BACKS 3 FOR COUNCILMAN AT LARGE

The Batavia City Republican Committee Tuesday night endorsed three incumbents for councilman at large.

Lee F. Allyn, current president and an eight-year veteran on the Council, and Raymond W. Tortorice, a former ward councilman elected to an at large seat last year, were endorsed. The third nod went to Thomas J. Franco, current Second Ward councilman.

If elected he would succeed at large member Charles J. Ruffino who announced Tuesday that he would not be a candidate for re-election. A fourth prospective candidate, Kenneth F. Witt, failed to win an endorsement.
