A Mass of Christian Burial for Wadia G. Hanna, 57, of the Town of Tonawanda will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Maron Catholic Church, 2040 Wehrle Drive, Amherst.
Prayers will precede the Mass at 9:15 in the Tonawanda Chapel of the Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Hanna died Sunday (May 21, 1989) in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness.
Hanna was born in Jackson, Ohio. After his father died when he was 4, the family moved to Lebanon, where he was educated. He came to Buffalo in 1953.
In 1964 he opened Hanna's Delicatessen on Kenmore Avenue, which closed in 1976. In 1978 he started Hanna's Frosty Treats on Colvin Avenue, which still is in business.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nanette Nader; three daughters, Angela M., Rosemary, and Michelle, and two brothers, John of Lebanon, and Joseph.
