Chautauqua County's Conservative Party is under court order to reorganize and settle a dispute over who is in charge.
State Supreme Court Justice Joseph Mattina signed an order Monday calling for a supervised reorganizational meeting. Patrick Lucariello of Mayville and Edward Bellando of Westfield each claim to be party's county chairman. They were elected at separate meetings. Mattina ruled neither meeting was legally called.
A new election was set for June 2, but there has been no decision on time or place. Mattina named Buffalo attorney William Diggins to supervise the vote. He also asked the county's election commissioners to attend.
