Raventide, a 6-year-old import from Yonkers Raceway, made a winning Buffalo Raceway debut Sunday, capturing the $4,000 pacing feature for fillies and mares.

Ed McNeight Jr. piloted the winner to the 3/4 -length victory over B.J. Tammie in 2:00 3/5 . Scrivener finished third two lengths farther back.

It was the third win of the year for Raventide, owned by Kenmore's Magnet Racing Stable. The horse had been racing with success for five-figure purses at Yonkers.

Westport Fella, who overpowered the field in Saturday's $20,000 final of the Wells Fargo Stake -- winning the late closer by 5 1/2 lengths in 1:59 3/5 over a sloppy track -- will get his next big test in Saturday's $95,000 New York Sire Stakes for 3-year old pacing colts.

The Wells Fargo victory, second in three starts, was also the second sub-two-minute triumph for the promising colt.

Buffalo Raceway is dark tonight and Tuesday and reopens Wednesday.
