En route to Vienna and Salzburg, Austria, are Robert Edwin Spangenthal and his bride, the former Ellen Ann Duggan, whose marriage took place at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral. The Very Rev. Elton O. Smith Jr. performed the ceremony. Michael T. Duggan, brother of the bride, was an acolyte.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Duggan of Depew are the parents of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Spangenthal of Clarence are the parents of the bridegroom. A reception was given in Park Country Club of Buffalo.
Sposabella embroidery trimmed with seed pearls and sequins decorated the bride's satin gown fashioned with a V neckline and leg-of-mutton sleeves. The full skirt and cathedral train were trimmed with lace and had a border of lace at the hemline. A headpiece of crystals and pearls with silk flowers held her veil. She carried gardenias, miniature carnations and statice.
Julie A. Duggan was maid of honor for her sister. Mrs. Edward J. Spangenthal of Rochester was an attendant. Their floral tea-length cotton dresses were fashioned with off-the-shoulder necklines and full skirts.
Andrew M. Duggan, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.
Dr. Edward J. Spangenthal was best man for his brother. Robert H. Fritzinger ushered.
