Alert viewers of tonight's episode of the "Miami Vice" television series will have about five minutes to spot the Buffalonian in the show. He's musician Mike Licata, who abandons his usual post behind the drums to come out front and sing along with Jermaine Stewart during the opening sequence, a concert in a prison. Licata toured with Stewart earlier this year, returning home about six weeks ago.
Since then he's been working with synth-rocker Francis Preve under the banner of Gee Mrs. Cleaver Productions, guiding a new band that's due to debut locally early next year and waiting for a phone call from a major-label group that's been promising to take him aboard. If they don't call, Licata says, then he'll accompany Stewart to Europe next spring.
