NOD2016The Professional Nurses Association of WNY will celebrate National Nurses Week, May 6 -12.

The Buffalo News will promote the nursing profession with a special section on Sunday, May 8, recognizing all areas of nursing as well as the winners of the Nurse of Distinction and Nurse of Distinction in Education awards.

The awards honor a RN who has made outstanding contributions to the nursing profession, has demonstrated leadership that provides a role model to inspire other nurses to improve, and participates in activities that foster a positive public image of nursing as a profession.

At the ceremony, The Buffalo News will present the award winners with a plaque plus $500 towards the furthering of their education at a professional conference of their choice. The winners will also receive a one-year Professional Nurses Association membership.
