RIPLEY – A Buffalo man was seriously injured by an alleged drunk driver in a late night crash here Saturday. A fire on the second-floor porch of vacant two and 1/2-story frame structure at 39 Floss Ave. off Genesee Street just before 11 p.m. Saturday left $5,000 damage to the building, according to the Buffalo Fire Department. The fire was called in about 10:50 and out about 11 p.m., and caused no damage to contents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Buffalo Police and a Buffalo Fire Department emergency medical services unit were sent to the 500 block of Forman Street off Genesee Street about 10:49 p.m. after reports of a shooting in the vicinity. No further information was initially issued.
