SACHA - Gloria Of the Town of Tonawanda, died May 12 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. She was 89 years old. The former Gloria Wojcieszak was married for 50 years to Stan Sacha, a longtime assistant principal in the Buffalo school system, who died in 2005. She worked for many years herself as an assistant to local doctors. Along with Stan, she was a devoted birdwatcher and also a dedicated backyard gardener. Her chocolate chip cookies and pickle relish are legendary. She is survived by her son Bob, a magazine photojournalist-turned-CUNY professor, and his partner Regina Schrambling, of New York City; as well as her daughter Patty Fontneau, a manager at a major health services company; her son-in-law Bob Fontneau; and her grandsons Matt (Lindsey) and Harry, all of the Denver area. Her older and last surviving sibling, Stella Andrycha, died one day before her. She was also predeceased by her brothers Thaddeus, Stanley and Walter. Funeral arrangements by the Lester H. Wedekindt Funeral Home, 3290 Delaware Ave, Kenmore. Viewing Wednesday, May 16 from 5:30-7:30pm. Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood, Tonawanda on Thursday, May 17 at 9:30am.
