FC Buffalo to dust off boots for Friday friendly with Daemen

Thanks to what felt like an extraordinarily long winter, competitive soccer matches - youth teams aside - have been few and far between since college soccer ended in early November.

After seeing last Sunday's friendly against North Mississauga SC canceled due to inclement weather, local National Premier Soccer League squad FC Buffalo will finally suit up for an exhibition match against Daemen College at 7:30 p.m. April 20 at Sweet Home High School (1901 Sweet Home Road, Amherst).

Cost is $5 at the gate or free for season-ticket holders. Hot chocolate will be free while it lasts. The Wolves have released a tentative roster for the contest, filled with alumni and recent signings.

Daemen College is coached by Bobby McColl, who wrapped up his second season at the helm with a record of 7-11 overall, 3-6 in the East Coast Conference. The Wildcats were an impressive 5-5 away from home, and the squad scored 22 more goals in 2017 than the previous year (39-17).

Striker Noah Keem, the decorated Sweet Home High School soccer alum, paced the Wildcats in scoring as a freshman with 22 points. Here's a look back at Daemen's spanking of Pitt-Johnstown last season:
