Jon B. Ellington, who had been charged with raping a Lewiston woman last year, admitted on Monday to restraining her against her will by threatening to kill her.
At a court appearance last year, prosecutors said Ellington duct-taped the woman and held her for six hours.
Ellington, 45, won't have to register as a sex offender for the June 24 crime, but he could go to prison for as long as 25 years for second-degree kidnapping when sentenced June 11 by Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III. Ellington faces a mandatory minimum of five years.
If he had been convicted at trial next week, Ellington could have received a life sentence as a sexual predator.
