Closing in on a rainfall record today in Buffalo, and other rain totals from WNY

Another April rainfall record is in jeopardy today in Buffalo.

As of 1 p.m., 0.92 inches of rain has been recorded since midnight at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, closing in on the all-time daily mark of 0.96 inches set in 1986.

Last April, three new daily rainfall records were established: April 6, 2017, 1.58 inches; April 20, 2017, 1.95 inches; and April 30, 2017, 1.07 inches.

If Buffalo picks up just 0.05 more inches by midnight, it would be the first rainfall record set in Buffalo during April 2018.
