Aldi will reopen its store at 5999 South Park Ave. in Hamburg on Thursday. Its store at 601 South Transit Road in Lockport will follow April 25.
The stores were closed for remodeling, which puts them in line with the company's most updated decor and layout concept.
Improvements include high ceilings and natural lighting as well as expanded produce, dairy and bakery sections. The remodels incorporate environmentally friendly components, including recycled building materials, energy-saving refrigeration and LED lighting.
They're the 11th and 12th Western New York Aldi stores to get makeovers, after stores in Amherst, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Clarence, Depew, Dunkirk, Niagara Falls, West Seneca, Town of Tonawanda and Jamestown.
The no-frills grocer said it will invest $1.6 billion in 1,300 stores across the country by 2020.
