Four women wearing Niagara University rugby team jackets were spotted walking from the scene of a Saturday night theft at a Macklem Avenue home that formerly served as the women's rugby team house, Niagara Falls Police reported.
A couple who currently live in the house told police that they were away from home between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1:20 a.m. Sunday. When they returned, they saw the four women walking away from the back of the house, which had been left unlocked. When they went inside, they discovered that $30 was gone from the woman's wallet.
The victims told police that they suspect a member of the rugby team who lives one block over may have been involved, because she doesn't like the woman who lives in the house. Until last year the building served as the "team house" for the Niagara women's rugby club.
