Buffalo man charged with robbing Elmwood Avenue 7-Eleven

A 24-year-old Buffalo man has been charged with robbing a 7-Eleven store in the Elmwood Village, police said.

Gregory Conwell was accused of robbing the convenience store on Elmwood Avenue near Summer Street at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Conwell demanded money from the cash register, according to police, and a store employee refused to hand anything over. That's when Conwell took nine LED flashlights off the counter and ran out of the store.

Officers apprehended him a short time later on College Street, according to police. Conwell was charged with third-degree robbery and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration.
