Popcorn stand gets go-ahead from Clarence Town Board

A new popcorn stand is coming to 6610 Goodrich Road in Clarence.

Michael Sendlebeck told the Clarence Town Board on Wednesday that the 10-foot-by-16-foot shed will be a permanent structure, but a seasonal business, from May through October. The stand will be adjacent to Sendlebeck's home, which is in a commercial zone. The board granted him a one-year, temporary conditional permit.

Paul J. McCarthy Jr., the owner of an automotive repair shop next door, raised concerns about parking. He said he did not want the liability of cars parking in his lot. Sendlebeck said he would put up a fence.

The board said Sendlebeck will have to make the parking area deep enough so that cars can pull in and turn around, rather than backing out onto Goodrich Road.
