A North Tonawanda man pleaded guilty in State Supreme Court Thursday to stealing a handgun from his father in a burglary Jan. 13.
Nicholas A. Newman, 33, of Warner Avenue, admitted to third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and was scheduled for sentencing May 1 by Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. The maximum penalty for the charge is seven years in prison.
It was the second felony plea this week in a North Tonawanda handgun theft. On Monday, Michael J. Warning Jr., 35, of Payne Avenue, admitted stealing a gun from his parents' home Dec. 8 and giving it to a heroin dealer to settle a debt.
