Garden Notes: Do you know where orchids are?

The Orchid Show is scheduled for March 3 and 4 at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 3 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4.

Featured will be displays of award-winning orchids, educational programs, vendors. It is presented by the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society and the Botanical Gardens.

Tickets available at the door. Admission: $11 adults; $10 seniors (62+ with identification); $9 students (13+ with identification); $6 kids ages 3-12; free for members and children age 2 and younger. Visit buffalogardens.com.

Western New York Iris Society will meet at 1 p.m. March 4 at the Lancaster Public Library, 5466 Broadway, Lancaster. Maria Gerbracht, master gardener, will present “Planting Different Types of Iris in Your Garden: Soils and Culture.” A business meeting will follow. Everyone is welcome.

South Town Gardeners will meet at 9:30 a.m. March 9 at the West Seneca Senior Center, 4620 Seneca St. Mark Carra of the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center will discuss how to attract birds to your backyard. Guests and new members welcome. Call 668-0209.
