State Catholic bowling rescheduled, hoops and hockey still on

The threat of snowy weather has led to the New York State Catholic High Schools Athletic Association bowling tournament slated for Classic Lanes this Saturday being rescheduled for March 10 at Classic Lanes, according to Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association Executive Director Pete Schneider.

The tourney will start at 10 a.m. March 10 at Classic.

While the NYSCHSAA moved the date of the bowling, the boys basketball and hockey state competitions downstate Saturday are on as scheduled.

Manhattan Cup Class A champion Park School will travel to Long Island to face St. Anthony's at noon Saturday in a state semifinal. St. Mary's will also head downstate to face St. Anthony's (L.I.) for the state Catholic hockey championship.

Schneider also said as of now the Monsignor Martin girls basketball finals at Villa Maria College on Friday night will go on as scheduled. In the event the weather throws a curve and the expected storm doesn't clear out of the area by early Friday afternoon, then the league will consider rescheduling the games to Saturday.
