Pano's Restaurant sold for $2.1 million

Pano Georgiadis has spent 41 years making a lot of tasty spanakopita for his customers on Elmwood Avenue.

Last Friday, the sale of his restaurant made a lot of money instead.

Georgiadis, who is now retired, completed the previously announced sale of his Pano's Restaurant at 1081 Elmwood to Mark Chason's Chason Affinity Cos., through Gateway Mar LLC. The sale price: $2.1 million, according to Erie County Clerk records.

Chason now plans to hire a new experienced management team and executive chef to run the restaurant, after closing it for about eight weeks for some renovations, including a new kitchen and updated decor.

The developer, who is constructing a new mixed-use residential building next door with 33 condominiums and seven walk-up townhomes, said the restaurant will remain completely separate.
