Niagara Falls man charged with DWI after running stop sign and red light

A Niagara Falls man who went through a stop sign and a red light Friday was arrested by State Police, State Police said.

Troopers stopped Demian P. Hernandez, 30, shortly before 11 a.m. on LaSalle Avenue after they observed him failing to stop for a stop sign and running a red light, State Police said.

Troopers determined that Hernandez was intoxicated and in possession of cocaine, State Police said. An investigation showed Hernandez was driving with a suspended license, State Police said.

After his arrest, Hernandez was taken to the State Police Barracks in the Town of Niagara, where Hernandez was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, State Police said.
