Emily Pfalzer is coming back to Buffalo with an Olympic gold medal.
Pfalzer, a Getzville native and Nichols School graduate, was a member of the U.S. women's hockey team that beat Canada 3-2 in a dramatic shootout late Wednesday night (Eastern time) to end the Canadians' Olympic winning streak. The U.S. team last won the gold in 1998.
Pfalzer posed with her medal and added a Buffalo Bills winter hat in a photo posted on Twitter.

Pfalzer was the captain of the Buffalo Beauts last season and helped her hometown team win the Isobel Cup championship. She did not play in the pro league this season to spend time with the national team and prepare for the Olympics.
