The Lake Ontario Unit of the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced the dates for the annual State of Lake Ontario meetings to be held in Lockport, Rochester and Pulaski. Traditionally, each March the state fisheries personnel pull in key lake managers to update the public on such things as the forage base, the open lake creel census, new fishing regulations, stocking numbers and other pertinent data that lake and tributary anglers are interested in. The meetings will be held:
March 12 – Rochester Institute of Technology campus (Student Alumni Union, Room 1250), Rochester, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
March 14 – Cornell Cooperative Extension Niagara, 4487 Lake Avenue (Route 78), Lockport, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
March 15 – Pulaski High School Auditorium, 4624 Salina St., Pulaski from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
