A Lockport burglar was ordered Tuesday to serve four years in prison and repay $8,400 to his victim after his release.
Justin M. Kane, 28, of Gooding Street, has 14 previous misdemeanor convictions and one prior felony – a 2010 grand larceny charge for which he served four years.
He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree burglary for the December 2016 break-in at a Gooding Street apartment.
"Nobody forced me into a lifestyle of crime. I made bad decisions," Kane told Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III, who also imposed five years of post-release supervision.
Kane's ex-wife, Hollie Kane, 30, was sentenced to one to three years Jan. 30 for her role in the burglary and a separate theft of a purse from a vehicle.
