Two Batavia men arrested after deputies find more than 60 bags of heroin in car

Two Batavia men were arrested Sunday after Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies found more than 60 bags of heroin in the car they were in, sheriff's officials said Monday.

Deputies pulled over Ian K. Leblanc-Chatt, 32, and Jason M. Giuliani, 39, on State Route 19 and Main Street in the Village of Wyoming for an unspecified reason.

Deputies found that Giuliani, who was Leblanc-Chatt's passenger, had 60 bags of heroin in his possession, officials said. Deputies said they found two bags of heroin, Suboxone and three hypodermic syringes on Leblanc-Chatt.

Giuliani was charged with a  felony count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. His bail was set at $25,000. Leblanc-Chatt was arrested for driving while ability impaired, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and other charges. He was released to a family member. Both men were scheduled to return to Town of Middlebury Court on March 26.
