Derby skier Tricia Mangan's Olympic debut delayed

Derby skier Tricia Mangan's Olympic debut will have to wait.

The women's giant slalom scheduled for Sunday night (Buffalo time) has been postponed because of high winds, Olympic officials announced about two hours before the event was scheduled to begin.

The race has been rescheduled for Feb. 14 (Buffalo time). The first run is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and the second run begins at 11:15 p.m.

High winds at the Yongpyong Alpine Center in South Korea also caused the postponement of the men's downhill scheduled for Saturday. That race will be held Wednesday.

Mangan, a 2015 Nardin Academy graduate, is also scheduled to ski in the super combined on Feb. 23 in South Korea (Feb. 22 in Buffalo).
