Frederick Douglass

“As I Reflect: A Conversation with Frederick Douglass” will bring the legendary African-American abolitionist and orator to life in celebration of his 200th birthday at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery auditorium.

Presented by the Sankofa Heritage Collective and the Felix L. Armfield Memorial Archives and Residency of Buffalo, it will feature Kinzy Brown as the 75-year-old Douglass, Michael V. Hicks as Douglass when he was a young slave and Paul Lawson as abolitionist Henry Highland Garnet in a dramatic presentation inspired by Garnet’s famous 1843 “Call to Rebellion” speech given at the National Negro Convention in Buffalo.

Tickets are $20, $10 for students with ID, and must be purchased in advance. For tickets, call Sankofa at 292-2480 or visit eventbrite.com.
