Former cashier admits stealing $28,500 from Lewiston gas station

A Sanborn woman pleaded guilty Friday in State Supreme Court to stealing $28,500 while working as a cashier at a Lewiston gas station and convenience store.

Brenda S. Scinta, 57, of Cambria-Lewiston Townline Road, admitted to fourth-degree grand larceny and could go to prison for as long as four years when she is sentenced April 12 by Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr.

Niagara County Assistant District Attorney John N. Philipps said Scinta used false returns and canceled sales to pocket the money from January 2015 through March 2016 at the Sunoco A-Plus Mini Mart on Center Street in Lewiston.
