A Cheektowaga man had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit when he was arrested Thursday and charged driving while intoxicated, State Police said.
Charles E. Voorhees, 39, was stopped at about 3 p.m. for speeding on State Route 20A in Wales. During their investigation, troopers said the smell of alcohol on Voorhees was apparent. He was administered a standard field sobriety test, which he failed, according to State Police. A subsequent breathalyzer test was administered with the results showing a. 24 percent blood alcohol content. Voorhees was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and speeding.
Voorhees was issued an appearance ticket to return in March to Wales Town Court.
